Here and there I’ve picked up some new yarns over the past few weeks. Even though I am sticking to a new budget, there was a little surplus with holiday money to buy a few new goodies.
First up, I finally got my hands on some Madelinetosh Sock. I’ve only heard great things about her colors and I am very impressed. This is the pheasant colorway.

I also found some Malabrigo Sock in the Turner colorway. The buzz on this yarn has been amazing. I wasn’t sure it would live up to the hype, but the second I saw and felt it, I was in love.

A couple days ago I finally made it to the local yarn store, Twisted. Everyone in my knitting group had told me how great it is and I totally agree! The selection of yarns was great and the service was very friendly. Cori didn’t have quite as much fun as I did since I wouldn’t let her pull every skein out of the cubbies.
While it was hard to choose, I finally selected two different colors of Merilon sock yarn from a local yarn dyer, Black Trillium Fibre Studio.

Lastly, I’ve acquired a little more Dream in Color Classy as I have plans for a couple more things for Cori and a little sweater for a friend’s soon-to-arrive baby boy. I absolutely love the new solid colors of Classy. Purple Rain is an amazingly dark purple – it’s almost black. Gorgeous!

I recently bought some of the Madtosh sport weight. I haven’t knit with it yet, but I love it!
I’ve got a skein of Tosh Sock in my stash too. It’s beautiful stuff!
Im loving that PURPLE RAIN.
HOpe you are all safe in the flooding and crazy weather. JUst a quiet blizzard here tonight. Certainly safer than rushing water! Love to the baby
I’m totally flattered that out of that enormous and fantastic wall o’ sock yarn at Twisted, you chose two skeins of my sock yarn! I hope you enjoy it, and I’d love to see photos of how it knits up for you.
